Asian Americans in the inland empire: stories from the pastities
digital exhibit | a student history project

The Asian Americans in the Inland Empire Digital Exhibit showcases photographs and other digital media about the Korean, Japanese, and Chinese communities that lived in the Southern California region during the early 1900s. The exhibit is a visual guide on how interethnic friendships and community building shaped the landscape of the Inland Southern California Region. This is a student project and is currently being developed to add more galleries.

Below are three items you can explore:

  1. The Historic Kim and Inaba friendship story.
  2. Pachappa Camp, the first Koreatown, USA
  3. A Map Tour of the early Asian American communities and important locations in the Inland Empire

We hope you enjoy this small exhibit!
